All affiliate programs are defining in their terms and conditions that the affiliate is responsible for the taxation of his revenues. The fact that you are probably ignoring this doesn't remove your obligation to handle all related tax issues. Especially VAT has become a major problem over the last years. The result of this common ignorance is that many affiliates are sitting on a tax time-bomb. Earlier or later many tax authorities will receive information from banks or affiliate programs about affiliate revenues. AffiliateShelter supports you to set-up an affiliate business structure for your which is not leading to unexpected tax problems. Additionally we are providing information and services how to run an affiliate business the legal and safe way.

E-commerce presents a major challenge for EU tax administrations, given by the varying jurisdictional nature of the transactions and the potential anonymity of the contracting parties. This document outlines some basic UK tax considerations for individuals and companies conducting e-commerce and e-marketing using mainly the Internet for conducting business. In July 2005, the EU Commission proposed a Directive which would amend the place of supply of digitized supplies to consumers so that the location of supply would be the country where the customer is based. This was due to take effect from 1 July 2006 but EU-wide agreement for the implementation of these proposals has not been forthcoming until today. This taxation guide is based on UK law but can be applied to
many other EU countries also with similar taxation laws.
